THE HAUNTED: Video Interview With PETER DOLVING Posted Online
April 24, 2004THE HAUNTED's official web site has uploaded a three-and-a-half-minute video interview with singer Peter Dolving conducted at Gothenburg's Studio Fredman several weeks into the recording sessions for the band's new album. Download the Quicktime file at this location (file size: 27 MB). A couple of excerpts:
On whether it was hard writing "rock" songs again:
Peter Dolving: "No, I've never stopped. So it wasn't a hard thing — it was just doing what I've always done, but with different music, I guess."
On the new songs' lyrical direction:
Peter Dolving: "They're pretty much everyday lyrics for me. It's about the same bleak awkwardness of reality. I'd say it's a bit more fucked up than the last couple of THE HAUNTED albums. There are no serial killers anymore — not in these songs. This is all the horrifying realities of life. Yeah, it's pretty horrible." (laughs)
As previously reported, THE HAUNTED have completed the tracking for fourth full-length album, tentatively due later in the year through an as-yet-undetermined label (the band were previously signed to Earache Records).
The follow-up to 2003's "One Kill Wonder" will include such cuts as "Almost Alive", "99", "Who Will Decide?" (featuring a guest appearance by SICK OF IT ALL singer Lou Koller) and "Burnt To A Shell". Photos taken during the sessions can be viewed at this location. A short video clip of singer Peter Dolving laying down vocals to the song "99" can be seen here.
